About Thomas Duden

Tom Duden is a Licensed Private Detective #1456 in Nebraska and a former law enforcement officer with the Lincoln Police Department where he enjoyed a 26-year career. At LPD he developed his investigative skills and became the department’s trainer in DWI enforcement, PPCT-pressure point control tactics, verbal judo and interviewing and interrogation. He was awarded the Certificate of Merit (5) times for exceptional duty based on case clearances and investigations, Officer of the Year 1994, and Training Officer of the Year 1995. He was Vice-President of the Lincoln Police Union for 7 years before making the career change to Design Data where he was the in charge of the company’s human resources and facilities. In 2008 he became the company’s software piracy investigator and litigation coordinator and undertook numerous covert investigations in the United States where the company’s software was used to produce construction drawings with pirated software.

Tom retired from teaching in 2026 after 22 years, and enjoyed every minute, every semester and a few summer sessions. Tom has inspired students to enter criminal justice careers as police officers, county deputies, state troopers, border patrol, dispatchers and an FBI field agent in Oklahoma City.
